About Timiak Tech: Who We Are and How We Work

Timiak Tech is an independent UK publication covering non-GamStop casinos, offshore casino licensing, and responsible gambling. We were founded in early 2026 to fill what we saw as a gap: readers searching for information about offshore gambling sites were being served by ranked "top 10" lists written by affiliates paid on commission, and almost nothing else. This site is the almost-nothing-else.

What we cover — and what we do not

We publish factual, plain-English explanation of the offshore online gambling market as it presents itself to UK players. We cover how the licensing landscape works, what GamStop does and does not reach, what protections UK players retain and lose when using offshore sites, and where free support is available for anyone experiencing gambling-related harm.

We do not publish operator recommendations, ranked lists, review scores, or "best of" pages. We do not take commercial payment from any gambling operator. We do not include affiliate links. Our editorial position is that the offshore casino market is not a category that can be usefully ranked from best to worst; individual operators must be assessed on their own merits, and that assessment is a skill the reader should develop rather than delegate to a paid publisher.

Editorial standards

Every substantive claim on this site about UK regulation, GamStop, or specific offshore regulators is checked against primary sources — statutory instruments, regulator publications, and public registers — before publication. Where a claim depends on a source that could change (a licensing framework, a threshold, an in-force date), we cite the effective date and note where the current position can be verified. We update materially on any regulatory change, and every page carries a visible "last updated" line.

We do not publish anonymously. All bylines are real people who have written what appears under their name. Where a page relies on judgement — particularly around risk to the reader — we say so, and we err on the side of caution rather than reassurance.

The team

Nathaniel Ashcombe is our editorial lead and is responsible for factual sign-off on all pages discussing UK regulation. He has spent fourteen years covering gambling policy and consumer technology, first as a features writer for a national broadsheet and later as a research contributor for two select-committee submissions on remote gambling.

Priya Wadhwa is our regulatory and compliance analyst. She trained as a solicitor and spent seven years in compliance for two mid-sized operators before moving to independent research. She writes about licensing frameworks and translates regulatory documents into readable language.

Callum Renshaw handles our responsible-gambling and consumer safety coverage. He previously coordinated peer-support programmes at a gambling-harm charity in the North West.

Funding and independence

Timiak Tech is self-funded by its founders. We do not accept payment, sponsorship, or promotional consideration from gambling operators, payment processors, or affiliate networks. If we ever change that policy, we will disclose the change prominently and update this page.
